Spent time with many new friends this weekend, and also “old” friends.  My “old” friends live in Fort Mill so actually seeing them is a challenge.  Ate at a place called Cabo Fish Taco in North Charlotte.  Brilliant.  My old friend said we had to pursue the friendship.  Go after it,  make it work because of the distance involved.  Brilliant.  It’s true, and it is worth it, We are connected by many things.  However, our love of Jesus and endless pursuit of the Holy Spirit have created a bond that has yet to be broken.  We are currently “pursuing” new friends with the same thing in common.  Jesus.  Speaking of Jesus,  we must pursue him most of all.  Everyday.  Relationship.  Every chance.  It’s worth it.

Sunday Worship

Coulda been longer….I always feel that way.  A small group of people have been coming on Wed night around 7:30 to the Church to pray for the band and worship.  We pray for God to show up big on Sunday and really start pulling his people back to him.  We pray for every single chair in the Church.  All of them.  We pray for the youth section to not be afraid to commit to the Lord.  We pray for the back rows for the people who aren’t ready to get too close.  As you know, I believe there is a river of the HOLY SPIRIT flowing in front of the stage.  I have seen the river, I have felt the river, and I’m no longer satisfied to be back on the bank.  please come on Wed nights if you really want to lift up David and the band.  Continue to pray for our Church and Body.  God is moving and all are invited.  See ya

This morning I did something I have never done before.  Something that I would make fun of if you did it.  I pumped gas and drove off with the handle still in the tank.  Luckily it was equipped for morons and it detached at a disconnect.  The entire gas station crowd was quite amused and I’m sure it provided great entertainment for them.  You know you can’t help to laugh at people who do stupid things.  I have talked to two other people that have done the same thing.  This only means that we are a group of morons.  Have a great day.

Shark Hunters

I have found something that my boys have patience for.  Fishing.  Adam talks about fishing alot, so on the rare occasion we go, I am not surprised that he could fish for hours.  Isaiah, however, was a bit of a surprise.  Late Tues evening we went out to the pier at Surfside and went fishing.  In fairness, my girls did well for the first hour.  But the boys after hour two were showing no signs of boredom.  Later in the week we fished right outside the house in the surf.  Everbody caught a shark or two and Adam and Isaiah would have stayed longer but by 8am the swimmers were emerging onto the beach.  I realized on our last day of fishing that I hadn’t caught a fish.  I had more PATIENCE than usual and was handing over any rod with a bight so my kids could reel the fish in.  I was reminded of my Father’s patience (The Lord) as he has brought me along,  handing me the good things,  leading me to the right people, and teaching me as I am maturing in Him.  Thanks God.  Oh by the way,  I did catch the last shark of the trip and that was plenty for me.

Leaving Sat for a week at the beach.  No computer, so no blog.  For my 2 or 3 fans out there- I’ll return soon.  I have great plans to sit and do nothing.  We are ocean front at Surfside Beach in a shack.  I always feel very close to God when i am just hangin in the waves and admiring the ocean.  I am very excited this year as I know the effort I have put into my relationship with the Lord has brought me closer to Him than ever before.  I will miss Worship on Sunday but will be back next week with a sunglass tan and rested spirit.

Gifts for today?

I have been a believer for 11 years.  Each year a little better understanding of what I believe.  Mix that in with seasons of doubt and confusion.  Add in people’s advice, interpretation, and teachings.  Which adds in a little more confusion.  One thing has help straighten that out.  Real, honest, serious devotion to knowing God, spending time with God, desiring to experience God more than 2 hours every Sunday.  What I have found is God is moving ALL THE TIME.  He has sent us The Holy Spirit to be our guide and counsel.  It is real.  What Jesus told us to do is real.  WARNING!!!  WARNING!!!!  Christians that don’t believe in ALL the bible please stop reading!!!!   Jesus said, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.  And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”  NIV Mark 16:16-18.  these are verses that have caused many Churches problems.  To me, it is hard to explain away.  Whoever (us christians, all of), signs will (not might), drive out demons (seriously, demons), speak in tounges (holy moly, that might seem silly), snakes and poison (we are protected), they will get well (not if we don’t touch them, meaning you have to act).  Point being-  If you don’t try to really get closer, find out for yourself, or deepen your relationship with God;  I believe you are 1. missing out on a personal encounter that is real and for today that can really change your life, and 2.  you will miss out on God’s true will for your life and how he plans on using you for his Kingdom.  Don’t waste another day floating around with no effort.  dig in, hold on.  Praise God.
