The Channel….

Check this out everyone…..I have a great opportunity to work with The Channel at the new location at a brand new restaurant  and we need your help….Here is a note from Jay…
First of all let me start by saying Thank You for taking the time to read this message. For those who don’t know, The Channel is moving to a new location. Our new address is 221 N Main St Greenville SC 29601, and we will be opening there in May/June
A huge door has opened for us to return to the downtown Arts/Business district where we will have a much greater opportunity for impact. With any opportunity comes obstacles.
We took over the Carpenters Cellar Ministries just 4 years ago in downtown Greenville. The building we were in was only 1100 sq ft. We had a great big vision, and a building that limited us.
Within less than one year we had began a move to a new location still in the city, but not downtown. It was at this point that we decided to change the name to The Channel. The location on Orchard Park Dr was 3400 sq ft and a scary step of faith. We were moving into an area where we became a destination instead of being in the more desired downtown. In less than three years we have out grown our building. God is good.
We have been faithful and the Lord has worked some awesome miracles on our behalf. During our time at the current location we have seen some amazing ministry, concerts, and community events. We even had TobyMac and Diverse City host an after party with us after Winterjam last year. What a night that was.
While standing in the green room with TobyMac, I said I’m sorry we don’t have a big place and a huge sound system for you to play through. He replied, “that’s why we are here, to cause you to grow”. We all know that TobyMac is one of the largest icons in Christian music today.
The word tells us that Life and Death is in the tongue. Looking back over the last year, things have exploded since he made that comment. We hosted more National artist in the last year than we have in our entire ministry.
Also in the last year we have had 86 salvations that we know of, and numerous testimonies of how the Lord has touched someones life through The Channel.
Glory to God for what he has done. Isn’t crazy how God picks the most unlikely people to use. We in our selves have no ability, but through Christ we can do all things.
I’ve said all of that to say we need your help. We are moving to a new location downtown that has 14000 sq ft. It consists of three floors and is in the high foot traffic area of town. Who could ask for more. Our light will be shinning everyday of the week with many different type of events. We will also have a full restaurant. Yes I said restaurant.
We will serve lunch and dinner everyday with a full menu. We will have two stages on separate floors so we can provide entertainment for the dinner crowd along with full band shows in the concert setting. Just consider the thought of being fulfilled spiritually and physically all under one roof. We have many other plans in the works. I just wanted to share the basics with you.
Below you will find a link to where you can make a donation to help our ministry. I don’t like to ask for money because so many organizations do. The fact is we can’t do it without it. We have put together a few options to consider with a benefit to them all, not to mention all gifts are tax deductible. Please prayerfully consider helping us reach our goal.
The number may seem high to some, and to others may seem insignificant. The potential we have in downtown is unlimited. One last request. Please forward this email to anyone that you may know that could be in a position to help. Let’s get this link out to as many people as possible.
Also, here is a widget code for people to place on their MySpace if they have one to get the word spread faster. Just copy and past into the profile.

Thanks so much for all those who are helping spread the word.
God Bless

Today is Angie’s Birthday and she is ___ years old.  She looks 10 years younger than the real number.

She is funny, brave, beautiful, hard headed, usually right, painfully honest, and the love of my life.

I would buy her the world if I could afford to….but her world is her kids and family and friends.

I love you Angie “the Cobra” DeMarco!2007-2008 102

Happy Birthday ADAM!

My eldest son turned 12 today.

Adam is a manly man of a son.  He already has his life planned- Jet Fighter pilot for the Air Force after attending the AirForce Academy. He’ll get married later as to not worry his wife with his occupation.

After the AirForce he will be a commercial airline pilot with wife and kids.  I’m pretty sure he already has some names picked out.  He’s 12.  You don’t want to know what I was thinking about when I was 12.

He is serious.  He has always had a plan.  He says he will die for his country, and I believe him.  He’s 12.

He loves Go-Karts, fishing, camping, Clemson, and his Mama.  This boy is alot like me.

I love him as much as you can love another person.  I am proud of him and know he will influence the world no matter what he does.

I salute you mini soldier.  I love you.jet Dad

I have had some interesting conversations with Him this past week or two.  I believe He wants the real us to talk to Him when we are just talking to Him.  Not the “I’m in Church” person who uses great words and prays nice and neat.

We all have questions about how things are run up there.  We all think what could He be possibly thinking by letting something happen the way it does.  The truth is we can’t possibly understand His ways or reasons.  That really doesn’t help all the time.

Finding some quiet place is what I have to do when these questions are swirling around in my head.

I am still on a journey.  If we stand in the same place for our entire lives we will never get anywhere.  It is up to God when He will reveals things to us.  I rarely find things when I’m not looking.  My point is to look, ask, seek, listen, and PRAY.  Talk to God the way you really feel.  I”m quite sure he can handle the conversation.  You might have to wrestle for your blessing.

I truly embrace my personal relationship with Jesus and can’t imagine trying to navigate this short earthly trip without Him.  Or the LLLLLLOOOOOONNGGGG HOT afterlife without Him.

God is Good.  I know this.  I love Him and hope more people would find Him.  He is not mad at me for not going to Church this morning because we are all exhausted from the Clemson Game last night.

Clowns (4/08)

not my favorite.  but I would rather ride with a car full of clowns than a car full of balloons.  If you have ever had more than 10 balloons in your car(mylar doesn’t count) than you will know what I am talking about.

Ist thing they always do is make there way to the front seat.  Besides blocking your site, they begin to hum and all the hair on your body stands up.  After a few moments your tounge feels like it is wearing a sweater and the temperature in the car noticebly rises.

After 5 minutes your toes go numb and you can’t recall the reason for buying the balloons in the first place.  You arrive home(actually park in the neighbors yard) and run with your shirt off to hose yourself down.

After a few minutes the tounge swelling will lessen and up to 50% of your vision will return.  At this time it is wise to stop drinking hose water and lay perfectly still.  After 30 or so minutes, your ears will unclog and you will able to produce saliva again.

This would be a good time to tevil clownell your neighbors you have epilepsy and invite them over for cake and ice cream.

Things you don’t want your Dr. to say during surgery-

Nurse, wasn’t I wearing a watch when we started?

I’ll be right back. My car is in a handicap spot.

What the…is that a spleen or appendix?

I’ve got it!!!!!Peter picked a peck of pickled peppers!!!!Yes!!!

It didn’t look like this in Med School.

60% of the time this works everytime.

The last time I went this many hours without sleep I ended up in jail in Mexico.

I actually concentrate better after a few drinks.

If we actually pull this off..It’s free hodrtdogs for everyone!
